New stackbox

Ham radioPosted by Mikael Larsmark 2007-11-21 18:16
I'll be receiving some russian vacuum relays soon that I thought I'd make a new high power stackbox for my future 20M stack. I still need to find some 7/16" connectors but hopefully that will not be too hard to get hold of, I also need a good box to build it in that is weather proofed.

I designed it so that these combinations are allowed:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL
TOP/MID
MID/BOT
ALL, TOP/MID/BOT*
ALL, TOP/MID*/BOT
ALL,TOP/MID*/BOT*
TOP/MID, TOP/MID*
MID/BOT, MID/BOT*

Where the * indicates that the antenna has been put 180 degrees out of phase. This is to be able to steer the take off angle of the stack a bit more, since sometimes signals come in from pretty high angles, especially during solar peaks. I will need to simulate a bit in the future and see which combinations are useful to implement in the control box.

Here is a schematic of how I will build the box:
